The hotel is located in the Parioli area, one of the most elegant district of Rome, only 3km from the famous Via Veneto.
Rooms vary in size and style and are in good condition. They are equipped with all the modern comforts. Bathrooms also are in good condition. From the lobby an elegant block of stairs leads to a large and well presented breakfast room.
The hotel has modern 8-storey building in keeping with the surroundings. Lobby is large with marbled floors and several seating areas. There are mirrors and plants strategically arranged to create an elegant environment. Opposite reception desk, on the other end of the lobby there is also a Bar with more seats.
On the top floor there is a roof garden with a panoramic view of Rome and few seats to relax and enjoy the pleasant roman weather.
"Below is our response to your questions regarding our recent stay at the Grand Hermitage Hotel in Rome:
Although the lobby area was very nice, our room could have used some attention. The walls in the bedroom area had several areas with marks and/or nicks. The bathroom however was very clean. When we returned to the hotel on the last of our three nights there we discovered that no housekeeping had been done at all to our room- bed unmade, towels not replaced, etc. In addition, it would be great if the hotel would consider placing a mirror over the desk area; it would help when the other occupant is in the bathroom and would look very nice on the wall which is now blank.
The morning continental breakfasts were just okay. The area was very nice with tables clean and nicely set.
We did love the location although quite a ways from most sites. The neighborhood was quiet and lovely and a nice place to retreat to after a day of touring with hundreds of other tourists.
We felt very good about the price we got for the room.
We do feel that the service of this hotel was lacking very often. The first day the front desk clerk was very cool and detached and not very helpful. He was better the second day. The night attendant was actually rude to us when we asked a question. No one was very helpful or forthcoming with information until we asked- specifically about how to get to town, times and area for breakfast, etc.
